praying for your community: a prayer “walk” around town

Share the love.

In a world that often feels fragmented, collective prayer can bring hope and unity. Praying for your community is an expression of love. It shows a deep commitment to the wellbeing of those around you. Community prayer weaves together the diverse threads of our shared lives into a beautiful picture of connection and care.

When we pray for our community, we find strength in our unity and inspiration to work toward a future where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. What follows is a complete guide for conducting a progressive prayer outing in your community.

How does this work?

Gather a group of people together, or just make plans with a friend. Arrange transportation to various key places in your community. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with others, intercede for their needs, and invite God’s presence into the different spaces you visit. As you progress through your community, you’ll make several stops, each representing a unique aspect of community life. At each stop, reflect on the provided Bible verse and use the prayer prompt to guide your intercession.
